Marty O’Donnell Fired From Bungie

Bungie’s longtime Composer/Audio Director Marty O’Donnell, who is known for writing Halo‘s iconic theme,  had been hard at work scoring the upcoming release Destiny.

However it’s been reported that O’Donnell has been fired from Bungie “without cause.”

“I’m saddened to say that Bungie’s board of directors terminated me without cause on April 11, 2014,” he said on Twitter.

It is sad to see such a talented Video Game icon leave such a great company, especially considering how great the relationship seemed from the outside.

The statement from Bungie, was equally as vague. On April 15th 2014 Bungie Posted the following on Bungie.net:

“For more than a decade, Marty O’Donnell filled our worlds with unforgettable sounds and soundtracks, and left an indelible mark on our fans. Today, as friends, we say goodbye. We know that wherever his journey takes him, he will always have a bright and hopeful future. We wish him luck in all his future endeavors.”

Marty O’Donnell’s music for Halo gave us such good memories, and was awe-inspiring for many Halo Fans. He will always be remembered in our hearts as Bungie’s greatest Composer.
